Mexican Taco Shells

These taco shells are a great alternative to traditional tacos. They are cheesy, meaty, and most importantly, delicious. The only thing that would make these things better would be a crumble of tortilla chips on top of the shells. You can ask Michelle about that... Thanks BlogChef for the inspiration!

What you need:
1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning
4 oz cream cheese
12 large pasta shells
1 cup salsa
1 cup taco sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
1.5 cups crushed tortilla chips
3 green onions (chopped)
1 cup sour cream
enough hot sauce to make you happy

How to cook it:
1a.
In a fry pan cook ground beef and add taco seasoning and prepare according to package directions. Add cream cheese, cover, and simmer until cheese is melted. Blend well. Set aside and allow to fully cool.
1b. While burger is cooking, cook pasta shells, drain, and toss well with butter.
2. Pour salsa in the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
3. Stuff each shell with the meat mixture. Place the stuffed sheffs in the baking dish and cover the tops of the shells with taco sauce.
4. Cover and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
5. After 30 minutes, uncover, sprinkle crushed chips and shredded cheese on top. Cook for about 15 more minutes or until cheese is melted and looking delicious. Serve with sour cream, additional salsa or hot sauce, or black olives!
